Gielly Green hair mask

I wanted to choose something truly wonderful for my first review. It took a little time to decide but in the end I plumped for Gielly Green's hair mask. This is somewhat embarrassing to admit, but until a few years ago I didn't really pay much attention to looking after my hair. I guess I assumed some people were just blessed with healthy looking tresses and some of us were stuck with lank locks. My hair is very fine, but I have quite a lot of it - the most typical British hair type so I believe. I also dye it fairly often from my natural mid-dark brown colour to a very dark brown. Add to that the daily use of straighteners and products to tame my natural waves to a straight sleek style and my poor hair was suffering. I've tried many masks - and lots helped. But I guess when your hair has been neglected for 35 years anything will help! But I still didn't get the results I'd hoped for.. Then I tried Gielly Green Repair Mask and I haven't used anything else since. It's not cheap at around £30 a jar but boy is it worth it. And it lasts for months if you use once a week. It comes in a weighty glass jar and looks so gorgeous sitting on your bathroom shelf. The quality of the packaging no doubt adds to the price but it makes it feel even more of a treat when you're twisting the lid off :-) The smell is divine - It's got lots of lovely oils and minerals in it and the overall texture is satisfyingly creamy and thick. However for such a creamy consistency it feels incredibly lightweight - and I have to say that the best bit about this mask is the fact that once I've rinsed and styled my hair it's not at all weighed down as can happen after a lot of masks when you have fine hair. I apply it all over but perhaps put a little more on the ends of my fairly long hair. I figure they deserve more as they're probably years old by now! It says leave on 15 mins, which gives great results. But if I have time I leave on for an hour or so and can see even more of a benefit then. They say on their website that you can leave it overnight - I haven't done this as I don't fancy it gumming up my pillow! But I'm sure it would do wonders if I did. I bought straight from Gielly Green (who are a salon in London incidentally!). Here's a link http://shop.giellygreen.com/store/product/repair-mask/ Definitely a top tip for the +40's - healthy shiny soft hair always knocks a few years off!! :-) 40SBG
